An investigation has begun at a Regina steel plant after a worker was fatally injured this week.
In an emailed statement from Evraz North America, the company said it was “deeply saddened” to confirm that a contractor was fatally injured at the facility on Tuesday.

“The safety of our team members is our highest priority, and central to everything we do,” read the statement from the company.
“We are committed to supporting our employees and contractors during this challenging time while continuing to ensure the well-being of everyone who works at or visits our facilities.”
The steel company said it couldn’t share any more information on what happened, because the investigation is ongoing, but noted it is co-operating with local authorities.
